About College

Prabhat Kumar College, Contai, established on 15th July, 1926 with bounteous donation from the Late Biswambhar Dinda, in memory of his loving son, Late Prabhat Kumar Dinda, is the oldest College of Purba Medinipur District. Initially it functioned as an Arts College under the University of Calcutta with only 39 students. in 1985 it got affiliated to Vidyasagar University. The College now has developed into a glorious seat of higher learning catering to over 7000 Students enrolled in 23 UG, PG Departments in Arts, Science, Commerce and Teachers' Training Programme.
